To enter into Colombia all you need is a current US Passport .
Several major US airlines (American, Delta, Continental) fly directly into the newly renovated international airport in Bogota .
Avianca, an excellent Colombian airline is your connection from Bogota to Manizales
Avianca also has direct flights from Atlanta , Ft Lauderdale and Miami to Bogota . The flight time from Miami to Bogota is about 3 hours and then another 40 minutes on Avianca to Manizales .
A representative from Cupido will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel or apartment.
Taxis in Manizales are very inexpensive, safe and reliable.
Our recommended hotels and apartments are in an area of Manizales called Cable Plaza . This is the best part of town and has safe, high quality shopping malls, theaters, restaurants, cafes, bars and discos.
The weather is like California . Mild during the day and cooler at night. Dress well as the women expect this. Bring a sweater and a light jacket as the evenings can be cool. Bring nice jeans, dress slacks, golf shirts, and a bathing suit. If you forget something, don't worry. Manizales has just about anything you need and at a reasonable price.
The electriclty is the same as the USA so all your appliances will work without an adapter. The water quality in Manizales is excellent.
ATM's are widely available here and safe to use. You can exchange dollars for pesos in the Bogota airport. Do not carry excessive cash with you or flash your wallet. Do not bring expensive jewelry.
